National Popular Vote -- Electoral college reform by direct election of the President
November 17, 2007
Is the electoral college a thing of the past? There are many states, with Maryland being the first, exploring the possibility of passing state laws which would committ its electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote. This would change the voting and campaigning process in our American democracy where "blue states" and "red states" no longer has the disciminatory value that they have had in the past. We would all just be purple.
