Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, the film

Before The Devil Knows You're Dead, released in September of 2007, is a good thriller starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Ethan Hawke, Albert Finney, and Marisa Tomei. It is the story of a dysfunctional family in which the two sons, Andy (Phillip Seymour Hoffman), and Hank (Ethan Hawke) decide to rob their parents jewelry story to solve their money problems. What was planned as a victimless crime goes terribly awry and as the film goes on more and more bad stuff comes to light.

This is psychological thriller in which the characters are real and the situations seem plausible. I enjoyed this film and I recommend it. Phillip Seymour Hoffman has had a great year with the films he has starred in such as Charlie Wilson's War, Savages, and this film, Before The Devil Knows You're Dead. He is an outstanding actor.
