Teens often ride in cars driven by drunk drivers

21% of young drivers killed in car crashes were intoxicated.

This new survey of 1534 kids in California between the ages of 15 and 20 found that 50% said they had ridden in a car driven by a drunk driver in the last 12 months. I thought "friends didn't let friends drive drunk" let alone get in the car to ride with them? What's up with this?
